Karen Lee, O.D
Dr. Lee received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry and received her B.Sc with Honors at the University of British Columbia. She is the recipient of several awards for leadership in the optometric profession from the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association. She completed her internships at Lake City VAMC delivering primary care and low vision eye care to Veterans, as well as the School of Optometry and Ophthalmology W.M.C. Eye Hospital, Wenzhou Medical College concentrating on emergency and surgical care related to eye trauma and disease.
Dr. Lee frequently participates in humanitarian eye care missions providing eye health and vision care to patients worldwide including India, Thailand, China, South Africa and Ecuador. She is the recipient of several awards for her services to under serviced communities.
Prior to her transition to Canada, Dr. Lee practiced in Chicago, IL providing eye health and vision exams for the Chicago Public School system as well as full scope optometry at a private practice setting. Her interests lie in primary eye care for children of all ages with a social focus on the process of diagnosis and treatment of visually related learning problems. She believes collaboration results in the best patient care and is actively involved with various Optometric Associations. Dr. Lee is fluent in English, Cantonese and the Mandarin Dialect.
